In the last episode with the “Political Memory” program, Islamic writer and thinker Dr. Najeh Ibrahim continues to talk about the experience of intellectual and religious revisions to the ideas of the Islamic group, which produced the initiative to renounce violence.
Najeh Ibrahim led the intellectual side of the initiative and Sheikh Karam Zuhdi the administrative side.
Ibrahim said: Before the initiative, we were misreading the text and the reality in a wrong way, and this matter changed later. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak agreed to the initiative and released thousands of prisoners over a period of five years. Najeh Ibrahim had predicted in advance that the Brotherhood would fail in power because this organization did not know how to move from the group’s jurisprudence to the jurisprudence of the state. Islamic movements rule with the duality of the president and the leader, as is the case in the Iranian regime.
