Egypt’s Al-Ahly won the African Super Cup after winning 6-5 in a penalty shootout over Morocco’s Raja Casablanca, after the regular time ended with a 1-1 draw in Qatar on Wednesday.
Hamid Haddad advanced to Raja in the 12th minute after receiving a cross pass from Abdelilah Madkour. Defender Yasser Ibrahim did not improve its handling, as Haddad easily hit goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy.
Substitute Taher Muhammad Taher managed to equalize Al-Ahly in the last minute after a superb cross pass from the other substitute Muhammad Sharif and a header from Muhammad Magdi (Qafsha), which was saved by the goalkeeper and bounced back to Percy Tao, who passed to Taher to put the last ball in the goal of Anas Al-Zeniti, the Raja goalkeeper.
