Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur qualified for the League Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.
Chelsea climbed to the semi-finals of the tournament after winning 2-0 at its host Brentford, while Tottenham beat its guest West Ham 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Chelsea’s first goal came through friendly fire, after Swede Pontus Jansson, Brentford defender, scored an own goal in the 80th minute, while Jorginho added the second goal for the blue team in the 85th minute from a penalty kick.
Tottenham completed the semi-finalists’ contract, after their exciting 2-1 victory over their guest West Ham in the London summit.
Tottenham scored in the 29th minute through Dutchman Stephen Bergwijn, but Garrod Bowen scored the equalizer for West Ham in the 32nd minute.
The guests did not congratulate the equalizer much, after the Brazilian Lucas Moura restored the lead to the host team by scoring the second goal for Tottenham in the 34th minute.
It is noteworthy that Arsenal were the first to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament, after their big 5-1 victory over Sunderland on Tuesday.
