Youssef Msakni, the star of the Tunisian national team, described his team’s confrontation with Algeria in the match scheduled for Saturday in the Arab Cup final as difficult for both teams.
Msakni said in a press conference on Friday: It is a derby match, and we know each other, and the confrontations between the Maghreb teams always put pressure on the players and are full of excitement and rivalry. We hope to be at our best levels, and to achieve victory during this meeting.
He added: It is not possible to predict who will win, the chances are equal by 50 percent.
He added that the Tunisian team achieved its first goal in the tournament by reaching the final, and the biggest goal remains to win the title.
Msakni confirmed that he hopes that he and his colleagues will win the title to Yassin Meriah, after he suffered a cruciate ligament injury.
Regarding the confrontation with Majid Bougherra, Msakni said: I played with him for three years, as well as with Youssef Belaili, Bougherra is a good coach, and it is a fraternal match between the brothers.
Msakni concluded his statements by saying: We are not afraid of anyone, we know our capabilities well, and we hope that this tournament will be a good preparation for the 2022 World Cup and African Cup qualifiers as well.
Al-Bayt Stadium will host the final match of the Arab Cup, which started on November 30th.
