Jurgen Klopp, coach of the Liverpool team, revealed that he believes that receiving the vaccine against the emerging corona virus should be “ethically” mandatory.
Klopp clearly expressed his support for the vaccination program, and stressed that the players bear the responsibility to follow in the footsteps of the vast majority of citizens.
Klopp said that 99% of his team members received full vaccination doses, and a number of them received the booster dose, and some of them are scheduled to receive it.
This is in stark contrast to the situation in the English Football League, as about a quarter of the players affiliated with it confirmed that they do not intend to receive the vaccine.
Klopp said in comments published by the British News Agency: “From a moral point of view, this should be mandatory for everyone, I think, and not from a legal point of view.”
“It’s a matter of conviction, if I’m doing something that helps the people around me, it’s mandatory, but obviously some people see it differently,” he added.
“I’m 54 and I really believe in getting people to do the right things, but I’m not so sure about that in this particular case,” he said.
