The Qatari national team qualified for the Arab Cup semi-finals, after defeating the UAE team 5-0 during the match that brought them together on Friday in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
The Qatari team advanced with a goal scored by Ali Salmeen, the player of the UAE national team, by mistake in his team’s goal in the sixth minute, and Al-Moez Ali added the second goal for the Qatari team in the 28th minute from a penalty kick, then Khokhi Boualem added the third goal for the Qatari team in the 36th minute from a penalty kick, and scored Abdulaziz Hatem scored the fourth goal in the 44th minute, before Al-Moez Ali added the second goal for him and the fifth for Qatar in the third minute of overtime for the match.
The Qatari team will meet in the semi-finals with the winner of the match between Algeria and Morocco on Saturday.
The Qatari team qualified for this round as the leader of the first group, while the UAE team was present in this round after it came in second place in the second group.
