Manchester United drew 1-1 with its Swiss guest, Young Boys, today, Wednesday, in the sixth (last) round of the sixth group stage of the European Champions League, which witnessed the postponement of the fateful confrontation between Italy’s Atalanta and its Spanish guest, Villarreal, until Thursday due to a fall in Heavy snow on the match field.
With this tie, Manchester United raised its score to 11 points, 4 points ahead of its closest rivals Villarreal, while Young Boys remained at the bottom of the standings with 4 points, two points behind Atalanta, who is in third place.
United played the match with calm nerves, after ensuring since the last round that they qualified for the playoffs in the tournament in which they were crowned 3 times, and they are at the top of the group, while Young Boys bid farewell to the competition early.
Mason Greenwood scored for Manchester United in the ninth minute, while Fabian Rider Leung Boys equalized in the 42nd minute.
With that result, Manchester United were unable to avenge their sudden 1-2 loss to their Swiss rival in the opening matches of the two teams in the group last September.
