EgyptAir announced the resumption of operating one flight per week between Cairo and Johannesburg, from December 16, with the flight taking off from Cairo at 23:05 pm on Thursday every week, on board the company’s latest aircraft models.
The company said that all preventive measures announced by the Egyptian Ministry of Health will be applied to passengers coming from South Africa to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Several countries around the world have suspended their flights to and from South Africa, due to the mutant Omicron, which was discovered in South Africa.
South Africa protested strongly against the new restrictions, to the extent that its Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered it a “punishment” for being the first party to identify the mutant that is currently being discovered in various countries of the world, from the Netherlands to Britain, Canada and Hong Kong.
